Transparency/Legal Notices

In 2025, New Jersey passed a new law (L.2025, c. 72, codified as N.J.S.A. 35:3-1 et seq.) that allows required legal public notices to be posted and shared in a more accessible and permanent manner. The law amends and replaces the prior requirement of printing legal public notices in physical newspapers, and instead requires local government units, such as the Jackson Township Municipal Utilities Authority, to publish or advertise legal public notices (e.g., requests for bids, public hearings, meetings, or notices of decisions) on their official websites. Subsequently, after a statutorily defined period of time, all legal public notices that appear on this website will be transferred to an archive. The archive will contain legal public notices that are no longer displayed on the main homepage for at least (1) year.
